How far in advance do I have to order?
We require two weeks notice for cakes and one weeks notice for cupcakes or other sweet treats. There are times we can do rush orders for an additional fee.
How do I store my cake/cupcakes?
As our cakes and cupcakes are made with American buttercream, they taste best at room temperature. You'll want to take your cake out of the fridge for 3-4 hours prior to serving so it can come to room temperature. Cupcakes should be taken out 2-3 hours.
If you're keeping your cake/cupcakes in the fridge, here's how much space you'll need: 4" and 6" cakes are packaged in an 8"x8"x8" box. 8" and 9" cakes are packed in a 10"x10"x8" box. Note: if your cake has tall/special designs the height of the box may be higher than 8" to accommodate.
If you will be picking up your cake on your way to the event where it'll be enjoyed, let us know and we can take it out of our cooler in advance for you.
How do I cut my cake?
First, cut the cake down the middle, using a sharp serrated knife that is long enough to cut through all the cake layers in one cut. You want a nice clean cut. Use a gentle sawing motion.
Second, from the side of the cake, make a cut at a 90 degree angle from your first cut. This will square off the side of the cake. You basically end up with a “heel” of cake. These are the pieces you give to the guests who love lots of frosting and a little bit of cake.
Third, make perpendicular cuts down one side of the cake, making them as thick or thin as you like. Size will depend on how many people you are feeding and how much leftover cake you want.
Finally, repeat the steps, slicing the other side. You will end up with two more “heels” of cake on the opposite side of the cake.
Do you offer delivery?
At this time we are pick up only. We are located Northeast Edmonton in the Delwood area.
Do you offer allergen-friendly items?
While we can accommodate flourless or nut-free or dairy-free, we are a home bakery that uses flour, dairy, nuts, eggs, and other allergens. Due to this, we cannot be classified as "gluten-free," dairy-free," etc...as we cannot guarantee no cross-contamination. If you have any allergies or sensitivities to specific ingredients, please use caution and feel free to submit any questions that may help your make an informed decision.
